Position: Graduate Assistant, Intramural Sports
.49 FTE for academic (2008-2009)
Responsibilities:
Organize and conduct intramural leagues and events, including marketing, training of staff, preparing and scheduling of facilities. Hire, train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate over 200 student officials and supervisors.Manage student official payroll process. Prepare league and playoff schedules, communicate with team managers, coordinate and participate in disciplinary hearings.Evaluate and recommend changes as needed in Intramural Sports Program activities and staff needs.Assist in the purchase, inventory, and maintenance of all equipment.Responsible for one large team sport and two or three special events each term.Participate in student mentor program. Assist with other department activities as assigned. Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Recreation or Sport Management or other related degree. Prefer experience within event planning, league management and officials training. Experience in supervision of student employees preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office applications and web-page application.
Stipend: ($15,776 plus tuition waiver)
