About the Graduate Program


The most common majors in recent years have been the College of Student Services Administration, Exercise and Sport Science, Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (MAIS) and Business Administration.

 

About Assistantships

Graduate Assistants are part of our professional work team, providing leadership for programs and services. Graduate Assistants work approximately nineteen hours a week, and in return receive a full tuition waiver, usually for two academic years, plus a yearly stipend of approximately $15,700. Graduate Assistants also receive professional development opportunities on campus and registration fees fro some regional and national conferences.

About Recreational Sports

The Department of Recreational Sports is the heart of OSU and provides a dynamic environment to work and learn. RecSports employs 27 full-time staff, four graduate assistants, and over 300 students that each play a key role in contributing to healthy living and student development. Dixon Recreation Center was renovated in 2004 with input from students to create an outstanding collegiate recreational facility. Over 4,000 participants come through the doors of Dixon Recreation Center.

Health & Fitness Graduate Assistantship

This is a shared position with Student Health Services and Recreational Sports with the focus of health promotion integration with fitness services. Responsibilities include coordination, development and promotion of the Wellness Center programs and services, presentations to OSU community groups, and collaborative event programming. Position requirements: Public Health / Exercise Science or related academic filed; and experience in wellness programming and administration.
