The fitness program at Recreational Sports provides a variety of fun and innovative programs to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle.  We believe that each and every person should have the opportunity to enjoy physical activity and do so in a safe and supportive environment.

Jazz Funk *NEW*


Starting February 1, 2012.  Meets Monday/Wednesday 8pm in MP#2.


Popular among both men and women dance styles, the emphasis is on femininity and mannerisms.  This diverse style provides its performer greater freedom of expression and strength in technique.  A strong fusion of popular dance movement with strong hits, flow, femininity, strength, and hype.  Considered much sexier and stronger in comparison to other styles, and often seen in today's choreography for female groups such as the Pussycat Dolls and The Saturadays.



Group Fitness


Fitness is taking over the McAlexander Fieldhouse turf to bring you the latest in bodyweight, bootcamp and athletic conditioning workouts.


Taught by our certified personal trainers, these classes will combine creative exercises to strengthen and cardio intervals to get your heart pumping. These classes are for all fitness levels with the option to lower or increase intensity based on each participant's needs.

Whether you are new to working out and looking to Get Started, or want to improve your strength or performance. Our skilled trainers will educate you in proper exercise technique and help you create a fun and exciting comprehensive program including cardiorespiratory, resistance training and flexibility.

Drop in Body Composition Assessment--will resume Spring Term


The first Monday of each month come to the Fit Desk in Weight Room 1 from 5:00-7:00pm for a body composition assessment done and results discussed with a Dixon Personal Trainer. No Appointment necessary, so just drop in! The evaluation costs $5 and can be charged to your student account. For more information about Drop-In Body Comp Testing and all other Personal Training services please stop by the Recreational Services Desk.
