A vital read if you work with clients that are afraid to do a certain activity like for example jumping off a plyo-box to land on their previous ACL repaired knee: http://www.bodyinmind.org/fear-avoidance-model/

A new direction for the fear avoidance model
www.bodyinmind.org
Almost everyone suffers acute pain. Why do most recover, but an unfortunate few descend a downward spiral of social, personal and economic disadvantage? One hypothesis that has been interrogated for two decades is the fear avoidance model. Nonetheless, the case is not settled and some might argue th...

Do We Have to Cool Down After Exercise?
well.blogs.nytimes.com
Contrary to what most of us learned in gym class, cooling down after a workout won’t substantially improve limberness or reduce muscle soreness. A brief walk after exercise, however, may prevent dizziness by maintaining normal blood flow to the brain.

It seems that everybody is jumping on the cuing wagon these days, as what we say/how we cue our clients matter. If performance is what you are after, use external cues. If muscle isolation is what you are after, apply internal cues. As Nick Winkelman would say, "what we say matters" http://www.strengthandconditioningresearch.com/2013/04/24/internal-cues/?fb_source=pubv1

I believe like in this study that cortical representation is key in movement as our brain prepares, evaluates, compares and adjust movement patterns before, during and after we have moved. Thereby variable training by not only stimulation the body to change and adjust, exposing it to specific tasks but also exposing it through exploration of different environmental stimuli is key to an efficient body.http://www.nature.com/neuro/journal/vaop/ncurrent/full/nn.3381.html
