THE PRIDE CENTER CELEBRATES NEW LOCATION OSU's newly named PRIDE CENTER is moving. Once located in a small room in the OSU Women's Center, the former Queer Resource Center has a new home at 1553 SW 'A' Avenue, around the corner from Adams Hall. The new space will serve as a "home away from home" for students, a resource and education center for the OSU community, and a focal point for community involvement, according to Luke Sugie, External Coordinator of the Pride Center. Students are planning a special celebration on Monday, October 11, beginning at 5:30 and including food, entertainment, a tour of the new center, and many other fun and informative events. "We're all very excited about having our own space," Sugie says. "There will be lots of music to help make our celebration the kind of community atmosphere--a sort of block party--that we're hoping for. Everyone is invited to join in the fun and help us recognize a very special time for our center." |
