Programs for TAG and High-Ability Students in Grades 3-4 and 5-6
Winter Wonderings provides a variety of challenging, engaging Saturday courses designed specifically for gifted, talented, and high-ability 3rd & 4th, and 5th & 6th graders. Program participants discover new and exciting areas of study in a fast-paced learning environment.
Courses meet six Saturdays (January 26; February 2, 9, 23; March 2, 9, 2013) on the Oregon State University campus. Each course meets for 80 minutes each week for 6 weeks. Three time slots are scheduled each Saturday: 9:15-10:35 am, 10:40-12:00 noon, and 12:25-1:45 pm. Students may participate in one, two, or all three times. Precollege TAG Programs reserves the right to change instructors, if necessary.
A supervised lunchroom will be available noon -12:25 pm for students who enroll in a course at BOTH 10:40 am AND 12:25 pm. Students provide their own lunch and beverage.
Corvallis Parks and Recreation and Winter Wonderings will be making every effort to schedule basketball games and Winter Wonderings classes, for those participating in both, to minimize time conflicts. Be sure to indicate on the Personal Data Form if the Winter Wonderings applicant is also playing Corvallis Parks and Recreation basketball.
Fees - Winter Wonderings is funded by student fees and tax-deductible donations. Tuition is $75 for one course, $150 (total) for two courses, or $225 (total) for three courses.
Donations are sought to enable Winter Wonderings to provide financial assistance to students from families with low income. By including a donation with your child's tuition you will assist another child whose family's financial situation would not allow them to otherwise benefit from participation in a Winter Wonderings course. Please note donation amount on your check's memo line. Thank you for your tax-deductible donation!
