Alice Animation--Advanced

Did you take Alice Animation last year? Or do you already have some programming experience? Then come join us as we move deeper and faster through the world of programming and Alice Animation. Learn advanced tricks for making animated worlds work, as well as review the terms and skills it takes to program. Be challenged and come create the world of your dreams!
Chess -- Advanced

You already know how to play Chess and enjoy it. Now raise your game to the next level. Learn how to work opponents into a corner in the beginning of the game, stun them with lightning bolt tactics in the middle, and march to victory in the endgame. This course is guaranteed to be fun and informative, and you are guaranteed to see your skills improve.
Creating Computer Music and Audio

9:15-10:35 AM, 10:40 AM-noon, 12:25-1:45 PM Learn to create music and play with sound on a computer. Build songs from loops and samples. Record and edit vocals, instrumentals, and "found" sounds. Apply special effects to create entirely new sounds. Mix your songs into polished masterpieces and burn them onto a CD.
Engineering Escapades Engineering Staff

Participate in a variety of engineering experiences. Assemble electronic components to make an electronic dice, be part of a paper airplane simulation lab, interact with OSU's Microgravity Flight Team, and much, much more.
Fun with Drawing and Design

Take this class and be surprised! Draw animals, people and landscapes. Draw buildings in correct perspective and create beautiful designs using geometric shapes. Have fun “seeing” in the special way that the best artists see so you can draw anything you can see. This class is for everyone, especially students who feel limited in drawing experience or skill…. a very enjoyable class.

Making Mud Work : Painting With Egg----Cancelled

Minerals (mud) have been used to make paint beginning in the orient, to the Lascaux caves to the present day. Explore how paint is made and what archival means. Make your own paints and complete a totemic painting in egg tempera on board while using glair as an isolating varnish and a final finishing cover. Investigate Gesso making and application.
Mixing It Up: Minerals On Glass And Ceramic

Supply fee $6 per student
Using pigments from all over the world mix and paint with minerals to be kiln fired for permanence. What does it mean to anneal something? What is added to minerals aside from the multiple mediums to facilitate this process? Design and paint your own glass or ceramic piece to be fired. Inspirational studies will be on hand to jump start your creative juices.

Have you ever wanted to visit the moon, or at least show your friends pictures that 'prove' you have been there? How about putting your face on Mt. Rushmore? Show yourself sitting in the driver's seat of your favorite sports car or flying over a jump on your favorite horse? Discover how to do this and more! Transform simple pictures into your wildest dreams using Photoshop and a little creativity. The proof is in the pictures.
Puzzles and Problem Solving

With marshmallows, puzzles, games, hula hoops, and a variety of fun activities learn about problem solving, team work, communication, getting along with others, working in groups, connecting with and trusting others. Each class is guaranteed to be fun and challenging. Plan to wear clothes you can easily move in, closed-toed shoes, and dress to be outside in Oregon weather, as most activities will be held outside.
Sculpting Animals and Characters

9:15-10:35 AM and 10:40 AM-noon Did you ever wish you could make the characters from your favorite book real? Have fun making characters and animals in 3-dimensional sculptures. Use polymer clay, a clay you can fire at home, to sculpt a variety of animal forms and characters. You can make fun figures for yourself or for gifts. You might even make your own dog, cat or other pet.
Sound of Radio Theater

Prepare and perform a radio play for live performance and recording. Create characters, sound effects and performance related props and settings. Fun for everyone not just actors!

imaginary fairies. Dozens of ideas and illustrations will be offered to assist you in creating your own awesome projects with colored pencils, gel pens, metallic markers, watercolor pencils and clay sculpting. |
