If a time is designated for a course, it is the only time that course will be taught.
Courses without times listed can be taught at multiple times depending on interest.
Alice Animation--Beginning Lindsay Vega
9:15-10:35 AM and 10:40 AM - noon
Computer lab fee $5 per student
Be a director, animator, and creator! Make your own movies, worlds, and games. The Alice program will be used to provide awesome premade worlds and characters that you can manipulate using real programming basics such as loops, lists, and objects. No computer experience is necessary...we will learn everything as we go. Come join us and see what you can create!
Chess -- Advanced Dan Dalthrop
10:40 AM - noon only
You already know how to play Chess and enjoy it. Now raise your game to the next level. Learn how to work opponents into a corner in the beginning of the game, stun them with lightning bolt tactics in the middle, and march to victory in the endgame. This course is guaranteed to be fun and informative, and you are guaranteed to see your skills improve. NOTE: If you know how to play Chess but have even the slightest doubt about how to "castle", the difference between "checkmate" and "stalemate", or how to checkmate using a queen and a rook, then the Beginning Chess would be a better choice for you.

Learn to play the exciting "Game of Kings" in a fun and relaxed class with your friends. Start with the basics; but then go a few steps beyond. Learn the winning strategies and tactics to help you quickly become a strong player.
Crack the Code Wendy Black

Explore secret codes used in history from Julius Caesar to the present. Try new methods of transmitting secret information. Write, send, and decipher our own secret messages. Build Morse Code units and practice tapping out Morse Code. Look at some modern codes that are found all around us.

What would your life be like if you lived in another country? OSU international student presenters are eager to share their cultures with you. Visit their homelands through crafts, songs, games, food, costumes, and more.
Exploring Engineering Engineering Team

Discover several aspects of engineering. Learn how Nuclear Engineers determine half-life. Experience chemical engineering. Participate in a NASA workshop. And much, much more.
Fun with Groups-----Cancelled Aileen Hood
Imagine playing with marshmallows, puzzles and hula-hoops; playing games and doing fun activities while learning about getting along, connecting and trusting others. Experience a variety of activities to improve problem solving, communication, getting along in groups, and leadership. Each day is guaranteed to be full of different activities that are fun and challenging. Bring a fun attitude, closed toed shoes, clothes you can move in and dress to be outside in Oregon weather, as most activities will be held outside.
Making Mud Work : Painting With Egg-----Cancelled Toni Acock
Minerals (mud) have been used to make paint beginning in the orient, to the Lascaux caves to the present day. Explore how paint is made and what archival means. Make your own paints and complete a totemic painting in egg tempera on board while using glair as an isolating varnish and a final finishing cover. Investigate Gesso making and application.
Paper Sculpting Anna Tewes

Cast eclectic bowls from a mold using the Papier-mache and Paper Pulp techniques. Create a low-relief paper sculpture. Sculpting in paper is just as creative as sculpting in stone, metal, or clay and can produce attractive sculptures that are worthy of framing.

Make liquid starch to be used on finger paint paper to investigate wave length. Build chimes to experience sound waves. Make stained glass, create crystal effects, use positive and negative images, and more.
Theater Madness Majestic Theater
Education Outreach
10:40 AM-noon only Script fee $8 per student Prepare a selection of theater numbers. Focus on character, movement, and style. Be prepared to have fun regardless of your talent level. This course provides opportunities for actors, singers, and the curious. The play will be presented after the last class on Saturday, March 15th.
Web Page Design----Closed, all sections full
Create, build, edit, and test your own Home Page and Website. Learn to design your site, add text, photos, website links, and other special effects to personalize your very own website. Techniques will include building with HTML and Dreamweaver. Bring your ideas and creative imagination! No prior web design experience is required. Basic computer skills are recommended. Come join this exciting class in Web Page Design!
Wings and Things Debra Gruell

Experience winged animals from mythology, enchantment, and pure imagination. Create a Phoenix, Pegasus, fire breathing dragons, and
imaginary fairies. Dozens of ideas and illustrations will be offered to assist you in creating your own awesome projects with colored pencils, gel pens, metallic markers, watercolor pencils and clay sculpting.

Create fun cartoon characters of your pets, friends, parents, plants, basketballs. Start by drawing faces that are happy, sad, or angry. Draw a cartoon of yourself in single and strips as in the “comic pages”. Bring your imagination to this fun class.
