Eligibility Criteria

Applications will be accepted from students who have completed what traditionally are known as grades three or four girl in costumeduring the 2007-2008 school year.

Applicants must meet ONE of the following requirements:
a. Be identified as intellectually/academically talented and gifted according to State of Oregon identification criteria.
OR
b. Have mental ability total battery test score at or above the 90th percentile.
OR
c. Have total Reading or total Math achievement test score at or above the 90th percentile.
OR
d. Have demonstrated extraordinary ability, interest, and/or effort in a valued area of human endeavor.

Applicants qualifying under Eligibility Criterion d must obtain Expedition reference forms. One is to be completed by a TAG coordinator, teacher, school administrator or school counselor. The second form is to be completed by a parent or out-of-school adult who has worked with the applicant, such as an instructor, club leader, or coach.

Reference forms request information about applicant's special abilities/skills, behavior, intense interest in an area, conversations on adult topics, unusual curiosity, imaginative behavior, and awareness of humor. Expeditions' advisory board decides on the eligibility qualifications of each Criterion d applicant on a case-by-case basis.
