Outside the Box is designed for students who have completed what traditionally are grades 7 or 8 during the 2012-2013 school year and who are mature enough to monitor their own behavior in an adult academic environment, i.e., a university campus. Outside the Box is not suitable for students who have exhibited behavior problems.
New applicants must meet ONE of the following requirements:
- Be identified as intellectually/academically talented and gifted according to State of Oregon identification criteria.
- Have mental ability total battery test score at or above the 90th percentile.
- Have total Reading or total Math achievement test score at or above the 90th percentile.
- Previously attended an OSU Precollege TAG Program (Winter Wonderings, Expeditions, or Adventures in Learning).
