Families who have not previously used the OSU Precollege Programs online registration system will need to set up a new account with password and answers to security questions.
Families unable to access the online applicagtion should contact Outside the Box at 541-737-3735 to request an application form be mailed to them.
Completing the Application
When completing the Outside the Box application process, parents/guardians should be prepared to provide information about their child’s intellectual, behavioral, and social characteristics, work with others in group settings, strategies to assure the child has a positive academic and social experience, and any special services needed.
The submitted information is not used as admission criteria. It assists program staff in designing instruction and activities to meet the needs of enrolled students. The most beneficial materials are thoughtful, complete, and designed to help the staff gain insight into each applicant and their strengths and interests.
Materials from Applicant
OSU has contacted you to share one or two of your academic interest(s) with other students during a summer program. These academic interest(s) or excitement(s) can be either in or out of school. By way of an electronic document, letter, essay, poster, or web page, describe:
• Information about the interest(s).

• How you are continuing to pursue your interest.
Notification of acceptance to Outside the Box and the course packet will be sent in April to the email address listed in the student’s online application. All payments can be made by check, cash, or online (4% service fee charged for credit card payments).
