What an amazing opportunity for the employees and the children! I am inquiring about the advertised position for a Field Trip Leader! As a biological science and education undergraduate, I have been seeking just such an opportunity to combine my two passions: science and children!
I am currently employed in the Science Resource Center of Lane Community College in Eugene, tutoring for: biology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, and the botanical sciences; however, my background as a teacher’s assistant for Westside Elementary School in Hood River (which included helping institute a science-related curriculum appropriate to grade level) and experience directing K-5 summer camps has provided me with a foundation of educational work both rewarding and beneficial to myself and the children for whom I have had the pleasure of working. For over six months now, I have volunteered in the pediatric unit of Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital in Springfield, along with my participation in the Big Brother, Big Sister program.
In mid-July, I will be relocating to Albany/Corvallis to continue my education at Oregon State University, and sincerely hope you can help afford me the chance to share my talent and enthusiasm with your team!
