Application Procedures

Completed applications must be received by April 4, 2006, and consist of:

1) Materials from Applicant:
Information in some format (e.g., letter, essay, project, collage, poster, web page) about one or two areas of academic interest or excitement, either in or out of school. Include:
Information about this interest
How the interest came about
What you are doing to further develop this interest
2) Letter from parent or guardian:
Approving the applicant's participation in Adventures in Learning
Describing the early and/or current characteristics your child displays that indicate superior ability(ies) (e.g., intellectual curiosity, creativity, verbal facility, persistence, self-motivation, independence.)
Telling why you feel AIL is appropriate for your chilld.

The information you submit assists the AIL staff in designing instruction and activities to meet the needs of enrolled students. The most beneficial materials are thoughtful, complete, and designed to help the AIL staff gain insight into applicants' interests, strengths, and needs.

4) For new applicants only
Applicants qualifying under Eligibility Criterion a, b, or c must have a TAG coordinator, school counselor, or school administrator provide qualifying information on Personal Data Form.
Applicants qualifying under Eligibility Criterion d should check appropriate box on Personal Data Form for Reference Forms and information to be sent.
Parents of home school students are to submit a copy of most recent test results signed by the official tester.

Due to the popularity of AIL, the available slots fill quickly. To avoid disappointment, please apply early and be sure your application is complete. Incomplete applications cannot be processed.

Complete applications consist of:
No. 1, 2, & 3 for applicants who have previously attended AIL;
No. 1, 2, 3, & 4 for applicants new to AIL.

Notification of acceptance to AIL and the course packet will be mailed. Students then select courses and activities in which they wish to participate. These selections must be returned with a nonrefundable $100 deposit by April 21, 2006. The balance is due July 1, 2006.
