Change Starts Here

PeaceJam Northwest is in transition! Oregon State University is no longer serving as the Northwest Affiliate.

PeaceJam Headquarters has been and will continue to work to find a new host affiliate in the Northwest. If you have suggestions or ideas for organizations that may be a good fit or if you’re interested in serving on the Interim Affiliate Leadership Team, please reach out to Kate Cumbo, Director of Programs, at kate@peacejam.org or 303-455-2099. There are several interested organizations in the area. In the meantime, PeaceJam Headquarters will be serving as the Interim Northwest Affiliate and will be supporting PeaceJam groups and programs to continue their great work.

Additionally, a group from Eugene, Oregon is working in collaboration with PeaceJam Headquarters to put on a PeaceJam Slam event for youth this fall. Here is the information that they have recently sent to us:

“Please join us in Eugene for a PeaceJam Slam with Sister Helen Prejean.  Saturday, October 27th at Kelly Middle School in Eugene. Perhaps best known for her book and the film about it, Dead Man Walking, Sister Helen has been a powerful advocate for abolishing the death penalty and challenging the prison system for over 30 years.  She continues to speak, write, and teach about the value of human life and forgiveness.  Please join us for an inspiring talk with Sister Helen, as well as workshops and activities designed to give you tools to be the Change You wish to be!  Cost is $15-25 sliding scale, and cost should never be a deterrent.  Please come!  Contact Linda Smart at smartlinda_2000@yahoo.com to register. You may also contact Darren Reiley, Educational Consultant with Peace Village, with questions at (541) 337-6917.”
