Final blueberry research report presented to commission
(Capital Press)

Blueberry plants raised in "grow tubes" may look more robust, but appearances are deceiving. In fact, growing blueberries in the cylindrical structures is an exercise in futility for most Willamette Valley farmers, according to Oregon State University horticulture professor Bernadine Strik. "Grow tubes offered no advantage, and they cost money," said Strik while presenting her final research report on the subject to the Oregon Blueberry Commission on Dec. 4.

News for Employees

Enhanced Classrooms Computer Log In Change: Due to concerns raised of possible risk to the security of classroom/student lists, there will no longer be a “local” computer login in enhanced classrooms. Each instructor will need to use his/her ONID or departmental login to access departmental shared drives. Initial loading of the shared drive will take about five minutes, but should only occur the first time the drive is initialized. Instructors will need to be logged out of the shared drives in their offices to access those drives in classrooms. All instructions at the stations have been updated to reflect this change, and each instructor requesting a code will receive an updated version of the instructions. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this change, contact your departmental computer advisor or Diane Cooper at Media Services, 737-2120, or
