Oregon State University is a nationally recognized leader in the field of fisheries and wildlife, a reputation that was bolstered in 2009 when it became the country’s first university to offer an online bachelor’s degree in fisheries and wildlife through OSU Extended Campus (Ecampus).

Underwater Volcano Gave Clear Signals Before Eruption (International Business Times)

Commencement Tickets: A very limited number of Commencement tickets will be available from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, & Wednesday, June 13, for faculty and staff who were unable to pick up tickets previously. Reser ticket outlet located in the Reser parking lot. Up to TWO general admission tickets available per person. Current faculty/staff ID required to pick up tickets.

Cayuse Training: The Office of Sponsored Programs will offer training on the Cayuse 424 and Cayuse SP proposal system from 9:30-11 a.m. June 12 in the Barnard Classroom. River Restoration: Jeff Crane, author of “Finding the River: An Environmental History of the Elwha” will talk about river restoration in the context of Washington State’s Elwha River. Wednesday, June 13, 7 p.m. at Grass Roots Books & Music. Discussion followed by a book signing. Crane describes his personal history with the Elwha River in an OSU Press blog post.

The meeting begins at 3 p.m. in the LaSells Stewart Center Construction and Engineering Hall. Action items include Category I Proposals, new program degree proposals, academic unit merging proposals, and proposed revisions to the Promotion and Tenure Guidelines.

NEW! Retirement Reception: Please join us as we say goodbye to Ken Williamson after nearly 40 years of service to the College of Engineering. Williamson now holds the title of Emeritus Professor in the School of Chemical, Biological and Environmental Engineering. Traffic and Maintenance

Campus Wide: Due to annual maintenance on the campus steam distribution system, Facilities Services will need to temporarily shut down all steam services to campus from June 18-21. This will affect all hot water and heating services.


Corvallis: Scattered showers today, with a high of 67 and low of 52. More rain on the way for tomorrow.

Central Oregon: Partly sunny with highs in the low 70s today and sun expected most of the week.
