Moore Center Opening: The College of Public Health and Human Sciences invites the OSU community to the official opening of the Moore Family Center for Whole Grain Foods, Nutrition and Preventive Health, honoring Charlee and Bob Moore of Bob’s Red Mill, and the announcement of its new endowed director. The reception will be held from 2:15-3:30 p.m. June 6 in the Hallie E. Ford Center.

Concert Bands: The OSU Campus Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Symphony present their spring concert, “The Sun Will Rise Again,” Wednesday, June 6 at 7:30 p.m. in LaSells Stewart Center. $10 at the door. OSU students, faculty, and staff are free with ID.

Forestry Dean Forums: The OSU community is invited to attend the remaining campus forums for finalists for the Cheryl Ramberg & Allyn C. Ford Deanship of Forestry, held 10:45 a.m. to noon at Richardson Hall 107, as follows: Barry Goldfarb, North Carolina State University, June 6; and Thomas Maness, OSU, June 11. NEW! Happiness Events: The monthly Paths to Happiness workshop, led by OSU’s Winston McCullough is 2:30-5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 9. The Upbeat Café starts at 7:30 p.m. with a dinner, accompanied by a live band, followed by a brief presentation by OSU’s John Edwards on “The Contemplative Lifestyle.” Both events are at Dennis Hall, corner of 9th and Monroe.

Spring Chorale: University Chorale will hold its spring concert at noon Thursday, June 7, in the Kelley Engineering Center Atrium. The group is a mixed chorus of students, faculty, staff and community members. Selections for the spring concert focus on issues of war and peace. Free admission.

Traffic and Maintenance

Campus Wide: Due to annual maintenance on the campus steam distribution system, Facilities Services will need to temporarily shut down all steam services to campus from June 18-21. This will affect all hot water and heating services.


Corvallis: Spring still has some fight left in it, with highs today hovering around 65. Partly sunny skies, with rain predicted for this evening and into Thursday.

Central Oregon: Mostly sunny, with a high near 63 and low of 43.
