At 7 p.m. Saturday, June 19, the River Gallery will host its annual spring celebration of poetry, music and art known as “Wild Writers Recite!” This year’s event will feature short readings by poets Carter McKenzie, Anita Sullivan, Chris Anderson of OSU, Donna Henderson, Jessica Lamb and Cecelia Hagen, with music performed by singer-songwriter Claudia Austin-Prevost. The River Gallery is located at 184 S. Main Street in Independence. A book-signing and open-mic reading will follow the featured performers. Admission and refreshments are free, though donations to support the work of the press will be welcomed.
