Volunteer Opportunities
One of the purposes of the Oregon State University Retirement Association, as stated in the organization's constitution, is "to promote volunteerism in the OSU community." Hence, the primary focus of OSURA's volunteer effort at this time is limited to the support of OSU programs, activities and events.
To date, over ninety different OSURA members have volunteered their time to support the Student Orientation & Retention Office's OSU Connect programs, the Career Services Office's Career Fairs, and numerous other activities. Specific volunteer responsibilities have ranged from meeting, ushering, and distributing materials at the "Taste of OSU" and President's New Student Convocation, to providing information to new students from stations across the campus during New Student Week.
OSURA volunteer activities not only provide service to OSU, it provides its members with opportunities to stay in contact with the campus and students, as well as establish and maintain collegial relationships with other retirees.
