Question: Ulysses Grant “U.G.” Dubach became head of the Political Science program in 1913 and was the Dean of Men from 1924-47. While he was Dean of Men, he became the target of student ridicule, who dubbed him “Ug” from his initials U.G. What did he do that made the students unhappy?
Answer: Dean Dubach was responsible for outlawing smoking on campus.
