OSURA Scholarship

2008 Scholarship Committee: Joanne Trow, Bill Brennan, Kathy Heath, Jim Kruger, Ron Lovel, Chair; Carly Weeks, Susan Poole
One of OSURA's premier accomplishments is an annual scholarship for students at Oregon State University who are majoring in a subject that leads to a career in a field that promotes healthy aging. First awarded in 2007, the $1,000 scholarship is aimed at currently enrolled undergraduate students who have completed at least one academic year at OSU. Applicants must fill out a form and write a 500 word essay describing how they plan to promote healthy aging in their chosen careers. They must include details of any work they have already done in this regards through extracurricular activities.
Because of the number of good candidates, the OSURA board decided to award three scholarships in 2006/2007, one for $1,000; two for $500 each.
