OSU THRIFT SHOP GRANT REQUEST INFORMATION AND APPLICATION FOR 2014
The deadline for the 2014 Grants Program has passed. Recipients will receive their checks in April, 3014. Thank you for your interest in the 2013-2014 Grants Program.
Information below is relevant to 2013-2014 grants period only. New application forms are approved each year and are generally available at the Thrift Shop and on this website in December and due at the end of January.
Please: 1) copy and print out the application section below from this web page and complete and return with your application. 2) Printed copies of the application are also available at the entrance to the Thrift Shop during hours when the shop is open. 3) You may also use the "contact us" link at the bottom of the home page and request that we email you the application form and guidelines as attachments. The OSU Folk Club Thrift Shop Foundation, a 501(c) (3) organization, allocates funds to non-profit organizations in Benton County, Oregon. In 2012, $40,000 was awarded to 43 Benton County non-profit social-service organizations.
We are pleased to fund:
- Social service organizations
- Groups that benefit the youth and seniors of the community
- Community enhancement projects
- Fixed assets that will be of future benefit to the organization receiving them.
We do not fund:
- Organizational start-up expenses
- Wages or stipends
- Something that benefits only one individual
- Mileage reimbursement
- Monthly expenses, such as telephone charges, postage, membership materials
- Nationally recognized service organizations
- School groups, unless they have 50/50 matching funds
- OSU campus ministry groups, academic departments, and student organization and housing groups.
- Scholarships for program tuition, summer camps, etc. unless/until other needs have been met.
Requests must list individual prices for each item that is requested. If you are requesting multiple items, please list them in priority order.
WE WILL MAIL NOTIFICATION OF OUR DECISION ON YOUR REQUEST BY APRIL 30, 2014.
If we approve the grant, our letter will state how the funds must be used. You must use the funds for the stated purpose within one year or return the money to the Thrift Shop.

Requests must be postmarked by 5:00 pm, or hand delivered to the OSU Thrift Shop no later than 2:30 pm, on Friday, January 31, 2014.
This form must be returned with your application form.
The Thrift Shop funds only non-profit organizations that meet application guidelines.
