Joy Mench is a professor in the Department of Animal Science and the Director of the Center for Animal Welfare at the University of California, Davis. She explores what animal welfare means from scientific and ethical perspectives, how it is represented in the marketplace, and what consumers can do to make informed purchasing and care decisions.
