Affirmative Action encourages equity in the workplace through planning and implementation of guidelines and practices designed to end exclusion of women, people of color, people with disabilities, and veterans. Each year, the Office of Equity and Inclusion prepares an Affirmative Action Plan to analyze the OSU workforce.
Equal Opportunity is the opportunity to gain entry to, participate in, and benefit from employment, services, programs, activities, and privileges of the institution regardless of race, national origin, sex, ability or other protected status (Protected statuses include age, color, disability, gender identity or expression, genetic information, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or veteran's status). OSU's commitment also includes a moral obligation to address the needs of groups historically underrepresented in the institution and those that have faced barriers to equal opportunity, such as discrimination or discriminatory harassment on the basis of protected status.
