How to Configure Entourage to Syncronize the Calendar and Contacts with
Exchange
Entourage for Mac OS X is not a MAPI client like Outlook. It actually
uses webdav to access your calendar and contacts from the Outlook Web Access
Server.
Entourage does not provide all of the same functionality as Outlook.
However, it does support HTML email messages and synchronization with a
handheld device.
Entourage 2004
Entourage 2004 comes with Office 2004 for the Mac and requires Mac OS
10.2.8 or higher.
To configure Entourage 2004 to synchronize calendars and contacts, follow
these steps:
- The first time you run Entourage, the Entourage Setup Assistant will run. Close the assistant.
- Go to Tools, Accounts, Exchange, and click on New.
- Click on "Configure Account Manually".
- Enter a name for the account, such as the user's name.
- Put the user's login name in the Account ID field, and enter the domain,
password, name and e-mail address.
- Exchange Server: exmail.oregonstate.edu
- Click on the Directory tab and enter the name of the
global catalog server in your domain (e.g. gc.nws.oregonstate.edu or gc.tss.oregonstate.edu, etc.).
- Leave the Search base blank.
- Click on the Advanced Options for the directory server, and make sure that "This server requires me to log on" and "Override Default LDAP Port: 3268" are both checked. Leave the SSL setting unchecked.
- Click on the Advanced tab, and put a checkmark next to "DAV Service requires secure connection (SSL)".
- Leave all other options set to default and click OK.
- Entourage will tell you that it is synchronizing in the background. Close
the Accounts window.
After Entourage finishes syncronizing, you should be able to get to
the calendar by clicking on the Calendar button, and the contacts by choosing
the Address Book button. When composing messages, you should be able to type
names in the To: box and click on Check Names to query the Exchange
Global Address Book.

for Entourage X
To configure Entourage X, follow these steps:

- Click the 'Tools' menu, then choose 'Accounts'
- Click 'New' button
- If the 'Configuration Wizard' appears, click 'Configure account
manually'
- Select 'IMAP' from the dropdown list, then 'OK'
- For 'Account name', enter the name you want to personally assign to this email
