| Open the SSH Client. It will appear similar to the picture on the right. Notice where "Profiles" is located. Find it and click there. | ![]() |
| Clicking on Profiles will make a pull down menu appear. Click there and Select Add Profile to put in a host profile. [Note: This is connection information about a host you want to connect to, it stores your user name but does not store your password. If multiple users use the same SSH client it will be necessary to have a separate profile for each person connecting to the same host.] | ![]() |
| A box will appear that asks for a profile name. Enter a profile name. Note that some characters such as "\ / : * ? \" < > | ." can't be used. You could use dashes "-" instead of periods.. | ![]() |
| Next you will need to Select Profiles again, then select Edit Profiles. | ![]() |
| Next you will need to setup information about your host.
Notice the area on the left where you can select which profile you are editing.
If you only have one profile in your Profile list then it will automatically
open that profile. However if you have multiple profiles you will need to
select the one on the left you wish to edit.
You will need to give the following Information:
Host Name: User Name: <your account name on the remote system> The rest of the information does not need to be modified on this page unless you want Compression turned on. Most SSH servers will support compression. |

| OPTIONAL:
For those interested in X11 Connection forwarding, this SSH client will support X11 forwarding to your local X server. To enable this feature Select the X11 Tunneling tab, then put a check in the "Tunnel X11 connections" box. |
