- Primary Customers
- OSU faculty, staff, and students that are responsible for
maintaining departmental or unit network infrastructure.
- Support basic network and network services infrastructure.
- Internet application and networked services
(including, but not limited to, archie, news, ftp, gopher,
web, tftp, inter-system mail delivery, bootp/dhcp, domain
name and time service, X-server, and remote access)
- develop new services.
- when application in production (no longer under development)
transition support to appropriate IS team.
- Global OSU faculty, staff and student electronic directory for
effective support of mail delivery, maintenance and management.
- Remote network access
(including dial-in access, frame relay access and other
technologies)
- Network Backbone
(including routers, switches and other related equipment)
- Network Management/Monitoring of mission critical network
applications and network infrastructure
- Provide consulting on infrastructure related network services.
- Departmental computing, mail and network administrators
- Departmental computing services developers
- Other IS teams as appropriate
- Anticipate emerging needs of customers as related to network
infrastructure.
- Explore enhancements and new technologies as related to network
infrastructure.
- Establish and promote appropriate standards for the University
Network.
- Facilitate access to and integration of networked services, in
accordance with above standards.
- Identify metrics, collect data and perform analysis of service data.
