A: Media Collections are categories of related media. The relationship is defined by the person or group who builds the collection.
As an example, a professor might place all of his or her lecture videos for a particular class into a collection. This way students could view all of the videos for the class in one location.
A: The OSU Media Manager home page contains some features that provide the user with a few different viewing options. Following is an explanation of some of these different features:
A. Navigation Bar
Choose from one of five links: Home, Post New Media, Media Collections, RealMedia Archives, or RealMedia Classes.
B. Media Title
Clicking on the title of any piece of media will open details of that specific media piece.
C. Embed Code
Use this to embed the media on your website.
D. URL
This is the web address of the media. If you would like to bookmark this video, this is the address to use.
E. Featured Media
This group of media highlights activities at Oregon State University.
F. Newest Media
This group displays the most recently posted advertised media within the Manager.
A: Yes, OSU Media Manager shows related content. Just click on the title of the media of interest. This will open that particular piece of media. At the bottom of the screen is a Related Content group. If OSU Media Manager identifies related content, it will be displayed here.
A: Following is a brief description of the different player controls available.
A. Large Play Button
Click this to start the video.
B. Small Play Button
This can also be clicked to start the video.
C. Stop Button
Click this to stop the video.
D. Time Elapsed
This is how much video time has elapsed since you've started viewing.
E. Progress Bar
This bar indicates both how much of the media has been downloaded and your current location.
F. Total Time
This is the total time of the video.
G. Full Screen Mode
Clicking this will make the screen larger.
H. Volume Control
Click this to increase or decrease the volume.
A: Yes, the OSU Media Manager player can be embedded as follows:

The Media Collections page, located at http://oregonstate.edu/media/collections contains all advertised collections. Each collection has a corresponding RSS button. If you are interested in subscribing to a particular video collection, just click the button that corresponds with the collection.
A: OSU Media Manager is available at https://access.cws.oregonstate.edu/mediaman/ and may be accessed using most current web browsers.
You can also access the OSU Media Manager by clicking on the Post New Media link, located on the OSU Media Manager Home page, at http://oregonstate.edu/media/.
A: To post new media, you must possess an ONID network ID and be logged into the system.
The ONID network ID is used by students, faculty, and staff at Oregon State University to log in to OSU resources. If you are not one of these three categories of users, you will not be able to post media. You may, however, view and embed existing media shown on the OSU Media Manager home page.
