Oregon State University houses a number of first rate colleges, institutes and centers that lead research, education, and engagement within the coastal and marine sciences. Oregon State's interdisciplinary approach to discovery continues to put the University at the forefront of progress, allowing the institution to reach its full potential for pre-eminence, interdisciplinary excellence, and international leadership in marine science and engineering. The Marine Council, a high level leadership body representing 18 colleges, departments, centers, and institutes, strengthens Oregon State's effectiveness in marine research, education, and engagement through coordinating efforts and identifying synergistic opportunities.
