Help for the OSUAlert Portal
The OSUAlert portal allows you to provide OSU with your current emergency contact information. This information will only be used to notify you in the event of an emergency. The OSUAlert portal is a hosted service by Blackboard Connect and you will be redirected to their site to enter your information. Blackboard connect is contractually obligated to protect your information and will not sell or share it with anyone.
If you need help signing into or using the OSU Alert portal, please contact the OSU Computer Helpdesk through their contact form at http://oregonstate.edu/is/tss/och/helpdesk - (541) 737-3474
For policy questions about the OSU Alert service, please contact:
Public Safety Director Jack Rogers – (541) 737-8321
Oregon State Police Commander Lt. Steve Mitchell - (541) 737-0474
Logging into the portal
To login to the portal, use your OSU ID and ONID email (username@onid.orst.edu).
Your OSU ID number is a 9-digit number starting with 9, and is not the same as your social security number. Your OSU ID number can be found on your OSU ID card or by logging into http://infosu.oregonstate.edu/login , and browsing to “Personal Information”, “Display OSU ID.” Enter your OSU ID without dashes on the portal login page.
If you don’t know your ONID e-mail address, you can view it by logging into http://infosu.oregonstate.edu/login and browsing to “Personal Information”, “View E-mail Address.” Your ONID e-mail address is the one listed that ends with “onid.orst.edu.” Enter your ONID e-mail address on the portal login page where it says “Primary E-mail Address.”
Using the portal
Once you have successfully logged into the portal, you may enter your preferred emergency contact information. You may enter up to six phone numbers, a number for text messages, and an additional e-mail address. If you are an employee, you will notice that your work phone number has already been populated. If you are a student, we have used a place holder of all 9s for your phone number because the system requires us to provide at least one phone number. Primary e-mail address is populated with ONID e-mail for all students and employees, and cannot be customized.
After you have entered your information, choose the checkbox at the bottom of the page verifying that you have read the “Terms of Use” and click on “Update My Information.”
Follow the instructions in the form to complete the update process.
