Evacuation in Rosewood area
The Benton County Sheriff’s Office is urging all residents on Rosewood Drive and Rosewood Place to evacuate their homes this morning due to impacts from the heavy rainfall in the Willamette Valley.
Rosewood is located in the Lewisburg vicinity near Sulfur Springs Road.
22 homes are affected by the evacuation.
An evacuation center has been established at Crescent Valley High School, 4444 NW Highland Dr., north of Corvallis. The cause for evacuation is unstable ground and earth movement due to heavy water saturation. One home has been damaged due to a landslide.
The Sheriff’s Office directs individuals to avoid that area of Benton County.
Benton County Sheriff’s Office, Corvallis Police Department, Benton County Public Works and Corvallis Fire Department have established an Emergency Operation Center and are monitoring the situation throughout the county in anticipation of other potential issues.
