“LGBTQQIA” represents Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer Questioning Intersex and Allies, but also includes Same Gender Loving, Two Spirit, Asexual, Pansexual, and poly-amorous.

Recently, OSU was named as being one of the top LGBT-friendly campuses in the United States in "The Advocate College Guide for LGBT Students". The guide, published in August 2006, highlights LGBT-friendly campuses in the United States with the best programs, services and student coalitions for LGBT students.

The OSU Office of LGBT Outreach & Services maintains membership in the National Consortium of Directors of LGBT Resources in Higher Education.
