“LGBTQQIA” represents Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer Questioning Intersex and Allies, but also includes Same Gender Loving, Two Spirit, Asexual, Pansexual, and poly-amorous.

In 2006 OSU was identified as one of the top LGBT-friendly campuses in the United States in "The Advocate College Guide for LGBT Students". The guide highlights LGBT-friendly campuses in the United States with the best programs, services and student coalitions for LGBT students. This year OSU was again named as one of the top 20 LGBT-friendliest campuses in the U.S., this time by Campus Pride's LGBT-Friendly Campus Climate Index. The OSU Office of LGBT Outreach & Services maintains membership in the National Consortium of Directors of LGBT Resources in Higher Education.
