Everyone wins when people from different cultures learn from each other. OSU is committed to building international and U.S. minority representation among faculty and students.

• In 2010, OSU has more than 1,500 international students from more than 100 countries, including:

  • China
  • Saudi Arabia
  • India
• The proportion of U.S. minority faculty grew from 9 percent in 2000 to more than 14 percent today.
  • Kurt Peters, professor of Native American and comparative ethnic studies, specializes in civil rights issues.
  • Dawn Wright, professor of oceanography, uses GIS technology to map coastal oceans.
  • Sarina Rodrigues, assistant professor of psychology, studies the biology of behavior.
• Since 2000, the percentage of U.S. minority students has grown 85 percent, from 2,262 to 4,179.
• Since 2000, OSU has served increasing numbers of students with disabilities: 415 students in 2000 and 646 in 2009. Services have increased as a result: note taking (up 27 percent), alternative textbooks (up 18 percent) and test taking (up 122 percent).
