Charge
Recommend to President Ray one or more solutions that focus the University's programs and resources within the projected budgets and consistent with the Strategic Plan.
- The Advisory Council will deliver solutions with enough detail and rationale that if implemented will meet the stated objective of the University being able to operate within available budgets while moving forward toward the future outlined in the Strategic Plan.
- The solutions will consider the next two biennia, or a five year outlook.
- The solutions will encompass the University, "the collective whole."
Guiding Principles
- Maximize student learning and success.
- Maximize recruitment and retention of faculty to advance student success and signature areas of distinction.
- Use the strategic plan as a guide to current and future opportunities.
Timeline
The timeline is being driven by the premise that the Legislature will release its budget by mid-June. The Advisory Council is planning to develop draft proposals for input from campus and relevant external constituencies by mid-May. The following 3-4 weeks will be used for soliciting input and refining the plans, with a plan to recommend them to President Ray by mid-June after the Legislature releases its budget and the State Board finalizes budget distribution within the system.
