WSO Traveling Show 2014: WSO is a statewide non-profit watercolor organization in its 49th year, with over 900 members, featuring many of the finest watercolor artists in Oregon. The society is committed to furthering the interest of aqueous watermedia, which includes watercolor and acrylic paintings, by providing educational opportunities both for its members and others interested in the visual arts. This collection of 20 award-winning works was selected from the 80 works juried into WSO's annual Spring Exhibition by California artist and juror Robert Burridge. The Traveling Show tours Oregon for five months at four locations.
"Creating from Chaos" - selections from Ed Labadie: Ed’s current creations combine color, contrast, dynamic composition, and abstraction to entice the eye and intrigue the mind. Geometric shapes pull viewers into paintings initially, and further study rewards them with hidden subject matter coupled with a sense of discovery. Equally comfortable in watercolor, acrylic or oils, Labadie uses each medium to its maximum.
