OSU Alert System

Did you know that the OSU Alert System can update you, no matter where you are, in the event of a campus emergency?

When an event occurs, such as the steam tunnel fire last November, you can be notiifed by phone, email, and text message.  The OSU Alert System (http://alert.oregonstate.edu) lets you provide us with 6 phone numbers, two email addresses, a text messaging number, and a TTY/TDD device number if you are hearing impaired!  All you have to do is log in and add your contact information!

There are some important requirements you need to know about before you sign up:

  • You must be an OSU Student, Employee or Associate (sorry, affiliates are not included)
  • OSU Alert uses your ONID email address - employees and affiliates must have a phone number associated with their ONID account.
    • All OSU employees who have a phone number associated with their ONID account have been added to the system
    • Not sure if you have a phone number associated with your ONID?  Search for yourself in the campus directory (http://directory.oregonstate.edu/); if your phone number is there, you should be able to log in.  If not, OSU Computer Helpdesk and they'll be happy to assist you!

 Logging in is easy!

  • Open a web browwser and go to http://alert.oregonstate.edu
  • Click on "Enter your emergency contact information"
  • Enter your ONID email address (e.g. beaverb@onid.orst.edu)
  • Enter your OSU ID number with no dashes  (e.g. 987654321)
  • Enter your contact information
  • Click "Update My Information"
