Need to provide access to the internet for your business center? Want to offer a simple, maintenance free off-campus e-mail access and web browsing solution for visitors to your department? Have a student lounge and want to set up a internet kiosk but don’t want your department inundated with worms and viruses? Technology Support Services’ e-Station is your hassle-free, secure and economical answer.
Technology Support Services offers a secure computing solution including hardware and software, using Microsoft's Terminal Services and the Internet Explorer web browser. This service is an easy way to upgrade older public or general use terminals and workstations without breaking your budget with the purchase of new stand-alone workstations/kiosks.
The E-Station Package
The Basics:
- Windows terminal, 17 inch CRT monitor, keyboard, and mouse
- Windows operating system
- Internet Explorer (Plugins include: OmniForm, Adobe Shockwave, Adobe Flash, RealPlayer, and Quicktime)
Possible E-Station Implementations
- Business Center terminals for general Web usage for staff, employees, customers, or visitors.
- Off-campus web browsing and e-mail access (web-based) for customers or visitors
- Student Kiosks (Registration, Timeclock, InfOSU, etc.)
- E-mail Kiosks (ONID, Exchange, Hotmail, Yahoo!, Google, etc.)
- Information Kiosks (General OSU, Specific departmental web sites, Campus Map, Campus Services, etc.)

Limitations of Service
- In the terminal services environment users are not able to download and install additional software.
- Printing is only supported on network printers.
- Audio and Video are not supported on these devices.
- The department is responsible for purchasing/providing a security lock-down cable in public areas.
- Internet Native Banner will not function correctly on these devices
