Student Information (SIS) Training

Completion of a FERPA Tutorial is required for any access and/or training on any of the OSU student data systems. There are two delivery methods for two different purposes:

The FERPA Tutorial is for Faculty and Staff who require access to student records through the Banner, My Degrees, Nolij, and Data Warehouse systems.
The FERPA and Confidentiality Training course (in Blackboard) is for TAs and other course assistants who require access to Blackboard courses. Instructions for accessing this course can be found on the Registrar's Policies & Regulations site.

Departmental and core office staff are supported by designated in-office trainers and online video tutorials offered through the Office of the Registrar. Enterprise Computing Services (ECS) offers support for SIS users through the following courses:

The Banner SIS navigation course is optional, and access indicated on the Request for Access Form is granted with completion of the FERPA Tutorial. Please note that Banner Basics Training is a prerequisite for the SIS Banner training.
The Data Warehouse SIS navigation course is required for SIS Data Warehouse access. Prerequisites also include Banner SIS access and familiarity through departmental use or completion of the Banner SIS course.
