An authorization code is required for all billable long distance calling from OSU extensions. Authorization Codes are seven digits in length. Each authorization code is assigned a Facilities Restriction Level (FRL). The FRL will designate what long distance calls can be made and their routing priority. The FRLs are as follows:
Authorization Codes should be kept private and confidential.
Long Distance calling rates made using auth codes are based on AT&T Direct Dial Long Distance rates with a percentage discount.
AT&T Corporate Calling Cards are used when it is necessary to make business calls from off-campus locations. These cards are issued through Telecommunication Services.
When placing calling card calls, if you do not hear a tone and "AT&T", hang up and follow the instructions on the back of the card to reach AT&T.
If a calling card is lost or stolen, it must be reported immediately to Telecommunication Services.
All personal long distance calls placed from any OSU extension must be placed using a personal long distance calling card.
