Audio Conferencing

OSU digital phones are capable of having up to six people on the phone at one time: yourself plus 5 other people. If you have a digital phone, you set up the conference call on your own.

OSUMEETME.VC provides audio bridging services for 6 way and 12+ way calls.

Pros

  • If you have an OSU digital phone and fewer than 6 participants, no additional equipment or scheduling is required.

Cons

  • Unless you are using the bridging service, you have to call everyone.

Costs

  • OSU long distance rates, if they apply.
  • Audio-only bridging charges, if that service is used.

For Successful Use

  • If you're not sure if you have a digital phone, contact Telecom at 7-HELP (737-7357).
  • For multiple participants in a single location, use a desktop conference phone.
  • Plan ahead. Ensure all participants receive copies of the agenda and additional material prior to the meeting.
  • Perform a roll call so that everyone is aware who is on the call.
  • Dial in at least 5 minutes prior to your conference start time so that you can welcome participants as they join the call.
