Banner INB and ONID email maintenance at 10:00-10:05PM January 13 2014

There will be a 5-minute emergency service interruption tonight from 10:00-10:05 PM to reboot a hung load balancer. Existing connections to Banner INB and ONID email (for users not migrated to Google) will be dropped, and users can reconnect after the maintenance is complete.

The SSL certificate on mail.oregonstate.edu expired today, and from 4 to 5:45pm mail clients may have displayed a certificate error message before sending mail. This has been resolved.

IS Services status update, Wed. 1/8

The issues that caused service interruptions on Monday and Tuesday have all been resolved and these services are running as expected. The affected services were the OSU_Secure wireless network, Nolij, WebVPN, and ONID class group lists.

WebVPN login issue resolved, 1/7, 5:50am

We have now resolved the WebVPN login issue that was discovered on Monday, Jan. 6th. A failover and reboot of the primary server solved this issue. We believe the issue was caused by an error in the new code version on the VPN, and we have reported the potential issue with Cisco.

Nolij Login Issues Resolved

The issue with Nolij logins has been resolved. Nolij had reached a logging limit. The limit has been adjusted and Nolij is now operating normally.

Nolij Login Issues

Nolij is currently rejecting new user logins. Technical staff is investigating and working to resolve the issue.

Service Interruption, OSU_Secure, Sun. 1/5 8:00am to Mon. 1/6 11:20am

The OSU_Secure wireless network experienced a service interruption beginning Sunday, Jan. 5th around 8:00am. The issue was resolved at 11:20am on Monday the 6th. During this time, community members could still use the OSU wireless network, but had to do so via OSU_Access or other network.

On a related note, as of 12:00pm on Monday, WebVPN is unavailable and staff are working to resolve the issue.

The interruptions stem from the data center maintenance conducted on Sunday morning. Information Services apologies for the service interruptions.

Network Maintenance 1/5/14 6:00AM

There will be a scheduled maintenance on the Nexus switches in the Kerr b210 and Milne datacenters on Sunday, January 5, 2014 beginning at 6:00AM, and completed by 8:00AM. We will be replacing some network components, that will result in a 5 minute interruption to connectivity for most of the devices in Kerr b210, and a few devices in Milne. Replacement will be done in phases, so that the outage will affect a small group of devices at any one time. All devices should automatically reconnect when the switch is brought back online. Due to redundancy in servers and connectivity, we do not expect any outage or visibility to the general user community during this maintenance.

AppWorx experienced technical difficulties from 1:00pm to 1:30pm on 12/26 and may have appeared unavailable to users. All jobs were checked and restarted if necessary by 1:34pm.

12/26, Resolving issue logging into Qualtrics

Persons who use their ONID account to login to Qualtrics may be experiencing issues during the login process. This issue can be resolved on a case-by-case basis; please contact the OSU Computer Helpdesk to resolve this login issue.
