OUS: Insights from Scandinavia
Program is a study tour through Finland, Denmark, and Sweden hosted by OSU College of Forestry faculty.
Class will travel throughout Finland (Helsinki, Rauma, Olkiluoto and Tampere) and Sweden (Stockholm, Uppsala, Falun) examining the housing industry from mulitple perspectives that address regional sustainability.
• Good academic standing, with a minimum GPA of 2.75
• Sophomore standing or above
• Maturity and ability to participate in a rigorous daily program
The fifteen-day study course will begin in Helsinki, Finland, and progress to Stockholm, Sweden, and Copenhagen, Denmark. From these cities, students will travel into forested and agricultural areas to encounter sustainable forests and forest management systems, wood production, and examples of renewable energy systems. Emphasis will be placed on sustainability throughout the time abroad; where possible, public transportation (buses, trains and ferries) will be used to reach the learning destinations.
