Maynooth is a small town that welcomes students warmly. With just one main street and a few pubs, everyone in Maynooth knows everyone else. Despite its size, however, you'll find virtually everything you need in this colorful town. Since Maynooth is only fifteen miles from Dublin, it's also easy to travel to the city for a day or evening.
Maynooth is located in County Kildare, especially well known for its horse-racing; several famous tracks are located in the area. County Kildare has some beautiful early Christian ruins, including the high Celtic crosses at Moone, Castledermot, and Old Kilcullen.
