CIEE Czech Republic, Prague
Charles University in Prague
Because of its innumerable characteristic steeples, Prague is called the hundred towered city. The newly joined EU member is a perfect example of the tumultuous and steady development of a society—most recently transitioning from its communist past. Even though the population is only 1.2 million, Prague has an unusually rich cultural life: festivals, operas, concerts, and cultural programs, and many of these events are accessible on a student budget. CIEE students experience life similar to that of Czech students and make use of numerous neighborhoods of the city like native Praguers.
Overall GPA 2.75
Recommended course in general European studies, particularly Central European, in any of the following disciplines: history, sociology, economics, political science, language, or literature
