Students will visit both Phnom Penh and Siem Reap both of which are known for attracting tourists from all around the world. For the first three and a half weeks students will be studying in Phnom Penh, the capital city, which will begin with a three day orientation, followed by three weeks of study at Pannasastra University of Cambodia, which is known as the Cambodia’s top English language university. During these three weeks students will be living with a Cambodian university student and their family.

Cambodia has a topical environment with annual temperatures ranging from 70-90 degrees. This seven week long summer program is structured for students to become familiar with the development of a democratic nation alongside the economic and social aspects, which has been slowed by civil war on and off since 1975. Cambodia has reestablished an elected government and is in a state of transition and improvement. Siem Reap is the third largest city with a population of 100,000 and is a gateway to Angkor Archaeological Park which includes the Khmer temple which was built in the 12th century. Khmer Temple is the world’s largest religious building and is well preserved and known for its architecture.
