CIEE: Brussels, Belgium (Business, Communications, and Culture)
Vesalius College, the international English-language college in Brussels, is a small, independent, academic institution with a student body of approximately 350. Vesalius is located southeast of central Brussels, and an excellent public transport system makes commuting and traveling easy. Day excursions, an international trip, and local activities ensures that the Vesalius experience will be one of immersion into the Belgian and European cultures.
Brussels has emerged as the "Capital of Europe" in political and ecnomic terms. As the headquarters for the European Union, it is at the forefront of European integration and EU policy. Brussels is also very international; its diversity is reflected in its neighborhoods, restaurants, languages, and numerous cultural festivals. While French is the dominant language, Flemish (Dutch dialect) and English are widely spoken.
