The American Universities International Program (AUIP) Short Program ( 3.5 weeks) in Australia is based in the state of Queensland, which is home to rainforests, beaches, the Outback, and the marine diversity of the Great Barrier Reef. The programs are based either in Brisbane or in Cairns, with classes being held on the campuses of the University of Queensland and/or James Cook Universtiy. The program includes a 2-week study tour that includes kayaking, snorkeling, and/or diving on the Great Barrier Reef, hiking in rainforests, and experiencing Aboriginal culture in the Outback.
