The American Universities International Program (AUIP) Short Program in Antarctica explores contemporary issues in Antarctica and the adjacent sub-Antarctic region, including Tierra del Fuego and the Southern Ocean. Students attend weekly lectures in the fall available via webcast, and then participate in a two-week field study in Antarctica and Tierra del Fuego. Students spend 10 days aboard an expedition cruise ship to the Antarctic Peninsula and also spend 4 days in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina.
