Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships

The Benjamin A. Gilman scholarship is open to US Citizen undergraduate students who are planning to study abroad. The program aims to diversify the kinds of students who study abroad and the countries and regions where they go by supporting undergraduates who might otherwise not participate due to financial constraints. 

Requirements: US Citizen status; Federal Pell grant recipient, undergraduate student in good standing; program must be a minimum of 4 weeks in length. 

Award Amount: Up to $5000; average award of $4000

Deadlines:  March 4 2014 for summer/fall 2014 or academic year 14-15 programs; October 1, 2014 for winter/spring 2015 programs.

 

Application Details: As part of the application process, the study abroad scholarship advisor (LeAnn Adam)  and a financial aid advisor (Lois DeGhetto, Aaron Waldron or Patti Brady-Glassman) must certify your application (verify that you are participating on a valid program and are receiving a Pel grant).  

Gilman applicants must prepare a proposal for a "Follow-On Project" - an event or activity to promote education abroad and the Gilman scholarship upon return from abroad.
